Spike Trees
TAKE A STAB. Back in the day, businesses corralled bills with metal receipt spikes. To Lived-In Style's Ki Nassauer, the decorative bases screamed "tree stands!" Cut old greeting cards into squares (these range from 1 to 2 1/2 inches), using a paper cutter to slice small stacks. Poke the squares through a spike. Top with a vintage ball. You've got a cute little tree! Remove the cards, and the spike reverts to its utilitarian self.
